Vmp (Voltage at Maximum Power)
Vmp is the voltage at which a solar panel delivers its maximum power output under standard test conditions. It is a critical value for system voltage design and inverter compatibility.
Usually, you can get this parameter from the back side of a solar panel real product, or from its datasheet before purchasing.
-
Measured Point: Voltage when panel operates at peak performance.
-
Labeling: Found on panel datasheets as “Vmp” or “Vmpp.”
-
Design Use: Used to calculate optimal array configurations.
-
Temperature Sensitivity: Vmp decreases with heat.
-
Matching Components: Must align with inverter MPPT range.
